Bicycle System Overview

- Bicycles are frequently used for both recreational and functional trips in Santa Cruz County
- Bicycle racks are available on all fixed-route buses
- Free bicycle racks are available to businesses through SCCRTC's Bikes Secure program www.sccrtc.org

Safe Routes to Schools Program, City of Santa Cruz
Improve sidewalks, bikeways, and education programs to encourage students, staff, and faculty to safely walk and bicycle to school. Since 1999, each school year a different elementary school campus was selected as a focus for the program, and at this point all of the elementary school campuses have been introduced to the program.

Glenwood Dr. Corridor Improvements, City of Scotts Valley
The road was widened to include bike lanes, curb, gutter and sidewalks on both sides of the street from Scotts Valley Drive to Scotts Valley High School.

Vine Hill School Rd. improvements, City of Scotts Valley
Completion of the bicycle circulation system on Vine Hill School Rd. including widening of a crossing of Carbonera Creek to allow the additional the width necessary for sidewalks and bike lanes.
