Current Maintenance/Operating budget: $500,000/year
Description: Street patching and pothole repair, signal and streetlight maintenance, street sweeping, median and roadside maintenance, striping and painting, sign maintenance, street drainage maintenance, parking controls, and graffiti abatement.
How are ongoing maintenance/operations funded? Maintenance efforts are currently supported by 80% local city general funds and 20% gas taxes.
Additional Funds Needed to adequately maintain system: $300,000/year

41st Ave. and Gross Road Improvements

Traffic safety and congestion improvements to corridor: including landscaped medians along 41st Ave. between Clares St. and Gross Rd., a dedicated right turn lane on 41st Ave. on to westbound Clares St. and widening Gross Rd.
- Cost:$950,000
- How Funded? Redevelopment Agency ($930,000) and Traffic Impact fees ($20,000)
- Completed: March 2006
Projects Underway
41st Ave. Overpass Improvements

Addition of a third southbound lane over Highway 1 to ease existing congestion along the corridor (removes median barrier).
- Cost: $250,000
- How Funded? Traffic Impact Fees
- Construction Schedule: Tentatively scheduled for summer 2007

Clares St. Traffic Calming
Improvements along Clares St.from Wharf Rd. to 41st Ave. to include center islands and other features to slow traffic and improve safety for bicycles and pedestrians.

- Schedule: Dependent upon funding.
