1. Regional Overview
The region's multi-modal transportation system includes state highways, local streets and roads, buses, paratransit service for seniors and people with disabilities, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, and various other transportation programs. As federal, state, and local funds become available, improvements are made to these systems. The following pages provide a snapshot of different transportation modes and examples of recent, upcoming, and underfunded transportation projects in our community. Overviews of the costs associated with maintaining each of these elements of the transportation system are also provided for your information. Costs are shown in current year dollars. Fact Sheets on some of the region's major projects and projects are also included in Section IV of this document.
